Whitmore can make calls for you
Ask Whitmore to place a phone call for you — it dials, introduces itself as your AI assistant, and can even book, answer questions, or transfer the call to you.
Whitmore can make calls for you
Your receptionist does not just answer the phone anymore — it can also make calls on your behalf. Ask in plain language and Whitmore will place the call, introduce itself as an AI assistant calling for you, handle the conversation, and report back.
Just ask Whitmore:
- "Call Riverbend Lumber and ask if they have 20 sheets of 3/4-inch plywood in stock."
- "Call back the lead from this morning and see if Thursday at 2pm works for the estimate."
How it works
- Tell Whitmore who to call and what you want done.
- Whitmore shows you an approval card first — who it is calling, the number, the goal, and exactly what it is allowed to do on the call. Nothing dials until you approve.
- Once you approve, Whitmore places the call and always opens by disclosing that it is an AI assistant calling on your behalf.
- When the call wraps up, you get an honest report in your chat — including if there was no answer, with the option to try again.
What Whitmore can do on a call
You decide, per call, what the assistant is allowed to do:
- Just talk — ask a question or pass along a message.
- Book an appointment on your calendar, with the same careful confirmation steps as your inbound receptionist.
- Answer questions from your saved business info (your knowledge base).
- Qualify and transfer — screen the person and, if they are a good fit, transfer them to you. Transfers only ever go to a phone number you have verified you own.
Each ability is spelled out on the approval card before anything dials, and the platform enforces it — a call you did not grant those powers to simply cannot use them.
Business calls vs. personal errands
- Business calls introduce your business — its name, phone, address, and email — using the details in your Business Profile.
- Personal errands stay personal and share nothing about your business.
To set the details used on business calls, fill in your Business Profile (name, phone, email, address, website) in your workspace settings. You can also add a personal phone number on your own profile so Whitmore has a callback number when it runs personal errands for you.
Scheduling a call for later
You do not have to place the call right now. Just tell Whitmore when:
- "Call the supplier tomorrow at 9am about the delivery."
Whitmore will schedule it, and if the time might land outside normal calling hours for the person you are reaching, it will give you a heads-up first.
Good to know
- Calls are placed one at a time — if a call is already in progress, Whitmore will let you know rather than dialing over it.
- Outbound calling is available to owners and admins.
- Calls currently reach US and Canada numbers.
