Understand connectors and vaults

Connectors link Whitmore to the accounts and tools your team already uses. Vaults organize those connectors and control which people can access them.

What is a connector?

A connector is a secure connection between Whitmore and one account in another tool, such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, or HubSpot. The actions Whitmore can take depend on the connector and the permissions granted when the account is connected.

A connector shows its current health in Whitmore. If it needs attention, reconnect it before relying on it in an agent or job.

Why connectors live in vaults

Every connector belongs to one vault. The vault defines which workspace members may see and use the connection. When you configure an agent or job, you choose from the vaults and connectors you are authorized to use.

Whitmore uses the exact connector you selected. It does not silently switch to a different account if that connector becomes unavailable.

The vaults you start with

Personal connectors

Personal connectors are visible only to you. Use this vault for accounts that should stay private to your workspace membership.

Workspace shared

Workspace shared is available to everyone in the workspace. Use it for common business accounts that the whole team is allowed to use.

Custom vaults

Custom vaults are for a specific group of people. They are useful when access should follow a team or responsibility, such as Growth agents or Finance ops.

Access and management

Vault owners and admins can add connectors, manage access, move or disconnect connections, and repair connections that need attention. Vault members can see and use the connectors they are authorized for, but they do not see management controls.

Personal connectors and Workspace shared are protected default vaults. They cannot be deleted. A custom vault can be deleted only after its connectors have been moved or disconnected.

Find a connector

Open Connectors to see every vault you can access. Choose a vault to see the connectors inside it, who can access it, and the agents or jobs that use it.

To connect another account, open the vault where it should live and select Add connector.
